TWO LIVES, Helen Naylor

Questions:

1.- In the picture I can see a boy and a girl who are in love, because they are getting a hug. The title of the book is “Two lives” and in the picture, there are there, two lives, two people.

2.- Tredonald, the village of Huw and Megan, is a fantastic place, it isn’t exist, but if we don’t research some information of it, we believe that exist, that is why in the book appear the exactly occupation about it.

The 1984 miners’ strike was a major industrial action, which affect the British coal industry. The Government want to close some mines that didn’t have a lot of productivity, and in result a lot of people lost their job.

3.- David Thomas, Huw’s father, is an alcoholic men. He spends the money that his sons get. Also, they aren’t a rich family, they are poor. They’ve got a lot of difficulties to eat something and they usually have to ask at Megan’s father, if he can provide some food.

Richard Thomas, a brother from Huw, died in North Africa, at the WWII.

Huw went to Mr. Jenkins house to explain that they can’t pay the food, because his father spends their money to drink. At this moment, Megan asked to Huw to go for a walk later.

4.- Huw asks to Megan if she want to be his girl, and she accept. But anyone can see them, because if Megan’s father knew their relationship, they’ll have to stop that. Huw and Megan were friends for a lot of years, because of that, Huw ask this question to Megan.

5.- On this Saturday Huw and Megan were going to watch a film in Afon. Because of that they are very excited.

6.- I think the death of Gareth impact so strong in Huw because after the Richard’s death, Huw only had got a person, Gareth, a part of Megan with he can trust. The relationship of Gareth and Huw were very strong.

7.- If I were Meg and my father was alive, I were very worried with him. At the beginning, I would ask why did he hide the letters.

It’s possible that Megan’s father want to Megan find the letters, because if he didn’t want that, he burned the letters or he threw them.

8.- Because Huw’s letters never fall at Megan’s hands, until 50 years later. Two years after living Trendonald, Huw had got enough money to come back, but he thought that Megan tried to forget him, and he didn’t come back to Trendonald.

9.- Cardiff is the capital and the most important city of Wales. It’s situated on South Glamorgan, in the Bristol Bay, near the England border.

At 2006, Cardiff population was about 317500 people; it was the 16h biggest city on the United Kingdom.

10.- The relationship that  Megan and Huw had when they were younger was very strong. After this she wants to see him another time. But it isn’t the only reason, she also thinks that Beth have to see her father, and know him.

11.- She’s a guide of the mine.

Huw says that because Megan had to live his life, educates and takes care of Beth without a husband.

I think it’s very difficult, because 50 years are a lot of years, more than a half of a life to the normal people. However, the relationship about Megan and Huw can be successful, when they’re younger they were really in love.

- Paul, I’ve got something to tell to you.

- Ok, tell me my love.

- It’s something about Huw. I tell you from him before, but no so much. Huw was my only love when y was a teenager, and I was very in love with him at these days.

- I know that, but, what’s happen?

- When Huw had to go to Canada I was very sad. I didn’t receive any letter from him because my father hit them. But when I found the letters, I remembered how much I loved Huw. And now, Huw is here, with me, another time. Please Paul, I know you’ll be disappointed with me, but after fifty years I still love him, and he’s the only man that I love. I want to go married with Huw. Please, apologise me.

- Megan,... I love you.

- I know that, and me too but no with the mind that I love Huw. You’re a very good person Paul, I know that. But my life now, it’ll be another time with Huw, the man of my life.

- OK, I never thought that the power of love was so powerful. Bye Megan.

13.- I like these book because it’s a story with a happy ending. The story is not so much credible, however is a good story. Reading this book I learn that the love is a very important think in the human live. The love can change all the things.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Interview

J: Albert    L: Mateos    P: Bayot

J: Good afternoon. Today we are with Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo, two champions of motoGP championship. We interview these teen pilots.

L: hi! I’m Jorge Lorenzo and I’m 22 years old. I was born in Mallorca. When I was sixteen, I started riding motorbikes. Thanks for the invitation; I enjoy stay here.

J: how you started with motorbikes?

L: I saw a race in the TV when I was a child and I felt in love. My father bought me a motorbike when I was sixteen and then I started my new life. First of all, I was very bad at motorbikes, but I never didn’t lose my hope. Becouse of this, now I’m in the MotoGP Championship.

J: when you won your first race?

L: when I was 18, in Madrid. I remember very well this race. In these days, I rided a Aprilia. This motorbike didn’t work very well, however, I’ve got a good memory of it, it was my first motorbike with that I won a price!

J: and how did you feel?

L: it was amazing. I was very exciting! I can’t believe that, because the race was decided on the last curve! I came 2^nd, but here, I a headed my rival and I came de 1^st! My parents also can’t believe that, it was one of the best sensations of my life.

J: when you arrived on motoGP championship?

L: Last year. I didn’t have a fantastic year, but always it’s a good experience to start in a new competition, like moto gp. 

J: now explain to our public your recent session.

L: I give an 8 because I’m second, but I have problems with the pneumatics. These hadn’t got a good grip. In general, I did a very irregular competition, but I wasn’t the only one that it happen. Finally, I get 189 points and I become the 2^nd!

J: ok! Thank you for all and good luck for next race.

L: Bye! Thanks another time for the invitation, See you!

Catalonia's version of R.Hood

Serrallonga, was a Catalan bandoler. He robbed from the rich and battled royalist forces.

Robbing Hood, was a men like Serrallonga, but he was from England.

They had got a lot of thinks in comun. They were national heroes. They stole rich people and gave the earings to the poor people.

My best friend

I'm going to talk about my best friend, Dani, who is sixteen years old. We're in the same group, an we do a lot of things toghether. I think he's a good person. In fact, we've known each other since 2003.

On the one hand, Dani is a shy person, but if you meet him, he suddenly becomes  very sociable and outgoing.  He has a great sense of humour, when you are with Dani, it's imposible not to laugh. 

On the other hand, Dani isn't a fantastic student and usually I have to help him to history or English.

About his physical apparence, he's medium height and slim. He has got dark hair and expressive brown eyes. He has got a small mouth and white teeth. In conclusion, he's handsome. There are always some girls behind him.

Finally, Dani is a person who I spend a lot of good moments with, and I wouldn't like this ever stop!

Party time for Sant Narcís

The article talks about the Sant Narcís festival and these provenence. In that article, we can see the activities that performed in this days; the pregó, by Girona Football Club, the fair, the castellers, the correfoc, the fair, the concerts,...

In the festival, i went to the fair and barraques. I've passed a really good time at the fair, and in the barraques i watched some diferent good concerts!

Letter

Dear Tom,

I was great to hear from yoou! How are things in Verona? In Banyoles everything is the same. My family are good. My sister, Mariona, has decided to leave home.

Now, his living alone, in a flat in Girona. Well, I'm going to talk about my summer holidays.

This summer, I travelled with my parents to Menorca, a little island near Mallorca. I went there with ship. the ship was very big, there were a pool, a disco,...

In Menorca, I was staying in a Hotel, next to the beach. The hotel was colled "Hotel Cala Blanca". It isn't a very big hotle, but it was got a lot of comforts. Every day, in the morning, I went to the beach and there I practived snorke. In the sea there are a lot of fish that we can't see normally swim!

The beaches of Menorca were very beautiful. Most of them were little. There aren't many people at the beaches. It was really good.

One day, I met a German boy. I d'nt remember his name because it was very strange. We understood us talking in English, becouse I haven't got a idea of German.
